Pickleball Den Haag aims to be a safe sports club where everyone enjoys their sport: pickleball. Together, we do everything we can to prevent issues such as bullying, conflicts, discrimination, and sexual harassment within our club. This is why we have established our Core Values and House Rules / Code of Conduct, with “respectful” being a key value.
But what if…
Experience in various sports clubs has shown that there are sometimes moments and events where inappropriate behavior occurs. At Pickleball Den Haag, we want to prevent this. This is one of the reasons why we have confidential contact persons. They serve as a central point of contact to ensure that the way we interact within the club remains enjoyable and safe.
What does a Confidential Contact Person do?
A confidential contact person (Vertrouwenscontactpersoon or VCP in Dutch) is the central point of contact at the club where members can talk confidentially about inappropriate behavior. This can include bullying, sexual harassment, aggression, or discrimination. The confidential contact person also assists the board in preventing inappropriate behavior. The VCP does not investigate incidents at the association but listens, thinks along, and helps to take the necessary (follow-up) steps if needed.
Who can I contact?
At Pickleball Den Haag, we have two confidential contact persons:
Prevention is better than cure
The confidential contact persons are also available for questions that may arise before problems occur. This applies to trainers, board members, committee members, volunteers, and players. Reporting quickly, talking about it, and ensuring that an unwanted situation is ended early prevents it from worsening and can also prevent recurrence.
Confidentiality
The conversations between you and the confidential contact person are always confidential. No one will be informed without your permission and knowledge.Only in cases of criminal offenses the confidential contact person will report this to the board of Pickleball Den Haag.
